Waldaire is a stallion that is exceptional in every way for his rider! His generous nature and steady temperament make each and every day a gift. With 43 USDF Year End Awards to his credit thus far and a lifetime average score of 65.795% several conclusions can be drawn. He has proven to be a consistent and above average competitor from Training level thru FEI. His average score at Intermediare I (not including Freestyles) is 68.567%. In 2006, Waldaire returned to the sunny state of Florida and competed successfully with blue ribbon results and respectable scores at the delightful Florida Horse Park in the Grand Prix classes.
This vibrant chestnut possesses excellent jumping form and international caliber dressage talent. The elasticity and scope of his gaits is correct. He offers breeders an excellent opportunity to add athleticism and talent to their breeding program as well as substantial bone and excellent interior qualities. Waldaire’s foals consistently inherit his outstanding temperament and excellent performance capabilities as well as his lovely gaits. Their correct conformation, good movement and high trainability make them superb candidates for both riding and breeding.
It is worth mentioning that the foals out of full Thoroughbred mares have improvement in bone, substance and suspension in their movement. He is an extremely pre-potent sire, clearly stamping his offspring with his calm demeanor, size and excellent conformation. Upon close examination of his pedigree, the names of the great stamping sires of Hanoverian breeding appear so as to ensure the quality of the Waldaire foals – Dolman, Absatz, Duellant, Feiner Kerl, Fling and Senator just to name a few.
Waldaire comes by his outstanding dressage capacity through his strong dam line that has a proven ability to compete at the highest level. His grand dam Daktary was trained and competed under Robert Dover’s tutelage in the 80’s. Daktary held a high score at the BLM Finals in the Grand Prix that was upheld for many years in Region One, as well as being the winner of the very competitive Grand Prix at Dressage At Devon. Daktary’s full brother was none other than the Canadian Olympic Bronze medallist Dynasty ridden by Cindy Ishoy in the Seoul Games. Dynasty and Cindy dominated the international dressage scene in the mid to late 80’s.
In 2006, Watermark Farm was blessed with 6 Waldaire foals on the property. They are quite exceptional in a number of ways – their equable tempers, strong top lines, sloping shoulders and elegant movement. With several foals winning the coveted Inspection Site Champion title over the years – Waldaire can be proud of his offspring. In 2006, son Wizard WF was crowned overall Site Champion with a Premier score of 8.1. The judges praised his textbook conformation, strong top line and excellent movement and declared him a stallion candidate. At the end of the inspection tour, Wizard WF was awarded the title of Top Foal in North America. Not to be outdone, the 2007 foal crop impressed judges in several registries with their correct foundation and the improvement over their mothers. At competitions and inspections, many onlookers seek out the owner’s and compliment them on the foal, the good manners and correctness of movement. And it seems that history is repeating itself as the 2008 Inspection season has commenced – daughter Westerleigh WF received an 8.5 on Type and Conformation at her inspection, along with the title of Reserve Champion and a Premier ranking with an overall score of 8.2!
Our oldest Waldaire babies are now undersaddle with an excellent report from our young horse trainer. Wakanda WF & Wallace WF have been very simple to start and quickly mastered the skills of being an obedient riding horse for their riders. We are eagerly awaiting the start of their show careers in the fall of 2008. Our foals have been very straightforward and extremely simple to start and to introduce new things…simply put – they are very Adult Amateur friendly horses. We could not be more proud or excited for the future as these horses move up the ranks and into the breeding shed! They are appealing both to professionals and adult amateurs.
