USDF #1 Breeder of Pure Spanish Horses/Andalusians

Since 1999, there has been no looking back for this very driven SMDR team. In the past three years, SMDR has been reaping the rewards and earning the highest of accolades for their hard work. The United States Equestrian Federation® (USEF) has ranked them the number one breeder of Pure Spanish Horses/Andalusians for competitive Dressage in 2004, 2005 and 2006, and for the last two years they have also been ranked in the top nine breeders among all breeds. In addition, Enamorado VII, a stallion they imported from Spain has been the number one Pure Spanish breeding stallion for competitive Dressage for the past two years. “This is a phenomenal accomplishment for a small breeder, to sit in that kind of position, and for three years running.”

Enamorado VII’s most talented offspring, Decoroso SMDR, is SMDR’s most decorated stallion and has been the USDF National Reserve Champion for the past two years in third level and fourth level musical freestyles. In 2006, he began his career as an FEI competitor and was ranked 22nd (top 5% of all horses competing) in the nation in Prix St. Georges and won the USDF All Breed P.R.E. Awards in fourth level musical freestyle, Prix St. Georges and Intermediaire I. Decoroso SMDR also won the Senior Stallion Championship and was the Reserve Functionality Champion at the 2006 National Celebration of the Pure Spanish Horse in Las Vegas over Labor Day Weekend. At that same national show, Habanero SMDR was named levels 1-4 High Point Dressage Horse and was also the Rocky Mountain Dressage Society’s Reserve Champion Open Training Level and their Iberian Horse of the Year. In Dressage, SMDR Horses have won one National Championship, two Reserve National Championships, four USDF Region 5 Championships and four USDF Region 5 Reserve Championships.
