2004 Olympic Games - Dressage

Some Said it Couldn't Be Done - But They Said It Could

It Can Be Done!

Olympic ringI remember back in Atlanta when the team from Spain entered on their Andalusians and how everyone was talking about them and the fact that while their piaffe-passage tours were excellent they’d never be able to score high in some of the other movements at least not enough to be on top. Back then I remember every member of that Spanish team echoing with one voice when they said even then that their whole goal was to show that the Andalusian is a superior horse.

Well, if today is any indication, I believe they’ve succeeded in their goal. At the press conference the first thing that Rafael said was “I am so happy and proud of my horse. The nice job he did today is the work of many people. This is his third (and final) Olympic Games and he has shown that he can still go on and stay up with the very best ones.”

If you want to contact me, feel free to email me at dderosa1@optonline.net. I’ll be in Athens through August 28.
