Approaches For AQHA/BAYER Best Remuda Award
AQHA
Looking to Honor Another Outstanding Ranch
AMARILLO,
Texas - From the earliest trail drives to the daily work of modern ranchers,
no other tool has been more valuable to cattlemen than the working American
Quarter Horse.
In conjunction
with Bayer Animal Health, the American Quarter Horse Association recognizes
outstanding performance by a working ranch remuda. Inaugurated in 1992,
the AQHA/Bayer Best Remuda Award is awarded annually during the Working
Ranch Cowboy's Association World Championship Rodeo held in November.
The 6th Annual WRCA World Championships will take place November 7 -
11 in Amarillo, Texas.
Any ranch
that has five or more American Quarter Horse mares used to produce horses
for ranch work and is a Member of AQHA is eligible for this award and
is encouraged to nominate. The deadline for nominations to be received
in AQHA's offices is Wednesday, August 1.
"Open the
pages of any cattle magazine and it's easy to see how important the
American Quarter Horse is to the success of America's ranches," said
AQHA Executive Vice President Bill Brewer. "One of those cattle magazines
recently talked about how ranchers like and appreciate their cattle
but love their horses. It makes me extremely proud that AQHA as an organization,
recognizes this special relationship ranchers have with their horses
by honoring them with the Bayer Best Remuda Award."
