Wang & American Quarter Horse Foundations Team New Partnership To Help America's Young People Amarillo, Texas -- The Charles B. Wang Foundation and the American Quarter Horse Foundation have announced the formation of an alliance, which will provide financial assistance to organizations that offer equine experiences, to inspire or improve the quality of life of children with special needs or who are physically and/or mentally challenged. As a partner in this alliance, the American Quarter Horse Foundation will administrate the grant selection process and distribution of funds. In addition, the American Quarter Horse Foundation and the American Quarter Horse Association will match grant recipients to corresponding AQHA Affiliates and Professional Horsemen's Association members for possible volunteer support. Both the Charles B. Wang Foundation and the American Quarter Horse Foundation believe this alliance will encourage AQHA Members to participate in the challenge by supporting special equine programs in their local areas. Established in 1997, the Charles B. Wang Foundation is an independent, private foundation whose philanthropic activities focus on children and cross-cultural affairs. With offices in Kailua, Hawaii, the Foundation's fields of interest include youth development, education, health and a variety of other initiatives that support the enhancement of children. The American Quarter Horse Foundation was established in 1975 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation. The American Quarter Horse Foundation is an organization dedicated to funding equine research, providing educational programs and scholarships and preserving and interpreting the history of the American Quarter Horse. The Charles B. Wang and American Quarter Horse Foundation Alliance Grant guidelines are available through the American Quarter Horse Foundation Development office.
