Third Salute to AQHYA World championship show featured on this week's
"GMC America's Horse."
AMARILLO, Texas Due to the tragedies in New York City and Washington D.C, the September 12 episode of "GMC America's Horse" was canceled and will now be seen this Wednesday, September 19. Youth from across the country will be featured on the third episode dedicated to the American Quarter Horse Youth Association World Championship show on this week's "GMC America's Horse," the American Quarter Horse Association's weekly television show scheduled for Wednesday, September 19 at 1:30 p.m. Eastern. More than 900 AQHYA Members and 1,000 American Quarter Horses competed for 30 World Championship titles during the week-long show in Fort Worth, Texas, August 3-11 in exciting Western, English and halter events. The show also will feature a special "Your Horse's Health" segment dedicated to the symptoms and treatment of equine protozoal myeloencephalitis, commonly known as EPM. "These amazing youth are a tribute to the spirit of the next generation of leaders," said Bill Brewer, AQHA Executive Vice President. "It is a thrill to watch them compete and display true sportsman-like character." "GMC America's Horse" covers a variety of equestrian activities including cutting and reining events, American Quarter Horse racing, AQHA-approved shows and other activities involving American Quarter Horses. "GMC America's Horse" reaches nearly 20 million viewers on ESPN, which is available in some 80 million-plus households. The show is broadcast each Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. Eastern time. Beginning October 1, "GMC America's Horse" moves to ESPN2 on Mondays at 1 p.m. Eastern with repeats on ESPN Classic on Wednesdays at 6 p.m. and Thursdays at 5:30 p.m. Eastern.
