Equestrian of the Year Winner is Announced!

Group photo from left to right:The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s “Equestrian of the Year” is a fundraising campaign which welcomes equestrians from all disciplines and all levels to compete against each other to see who can raise the most dollars for the Society.

The “Equestrian of the Year” will be mentioned in over 20 Equestrian publications and have their photo on the annual poster to be displayed nation-wide. The winner will also receive a trophy and a $1000 gift certificate to EuroAmerican Saddlery.

Participants vying for Equestrian of the Year 2006 are Maureen Ebel, Nancy Later, Katie Tharp, Christine Thompson, and Alexandra Skiffington.

These past 3 months the participants have been competing against each other to see who can raise the most amount of money for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The participants were very creative in fundraising for this campaign. They relied on support from family, friends, and business associates to help them compete for the sought after title of …Equestrian of the Year!

For the past three years, the participants that have competed have raised close to $200,000.

The runner up, raising $7,300, is Christine Thompson. THE 2006 EQUESTRIAN OF THE YEAR, RAISING $8,330, IS MAUREEN EBEL

Special Thanks to the chairwoman, Mary Ann Grant, who has believed in the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Mission, and has been an inspiration to us all.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is a national voluntary health agency dedicated to curing leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma and improving the quality of life of patients and their families. Leukemia and lymphoma are the leading disease killer of men and women under 35.
