Hendricks Conducts Netherlands Clinic
The Netherlands - April 3, 2003 - Reining trainer Dell Hendricks of Tioga, Texas, traveled to the Netherlands in late February to hold two separate clinics on training reining horses. The training sessions were hosted by Dave and Rieky Young and were held in Vorstenbosch, The Netherlands, at the Burgmeijer Quarter Horses facility. Hendricks conducted a two-day private clinic before holding a two-day open clinic. He explains, "There were 10 riders in each clinic session. We had a variety of riders, ranging from rookie to professional trainers. I really think that everyone enjoyed themselves and learned something from the clinic." The popular trainer was thrilled with the reining activity he saw. "It was really fun to see that reining horses in the Netherlands are hot on our heels and will be very competitive in the international scope of reining. Beyond that, it was great to visit The Netherlands we had great weather even though it was a little early for tulips! My wife, Terri, and I had a wonderful time in Holland and we look forward to visiting again." Host Dave Young was enthusiastic about Hendricks' visit and the clinics. "Dell's training and teaching methods can be summed up in these words - Clear, Simple & Uncomplicated - with high-level results. Dell's ability to teach in a clinic environment is very unique as he is able to educate in an entertaining way that makes learning more relaxing and easier to understand and retain. We are looking forward to next time!" A National Reining Horse Association Futurity Champion, multiple AQHA World Champion and the only rider to earn two National Reining Breeders Classic Open Championships, Hendricks is one of the world's most successful reiners.
