NRCHA Celebration of Champions Set for 2005
  • World's Greatest Horseman
  • NRCHA World Championship Show
  • SRCHA Circle Y Ranch Derby

    All in One Great Show!

With the advent of the National Reined Cow Horse Association's new schedule for 2005 comes the announcement of the February 19-26 debut of the NRCHA Celebration of Champions in Stephenville, Texas.

The World's Greatest Horseman, NRCHA World Championship Show, and SRCHA Circle Y Ranch Derby will all run concurrently, giving reined cow horse exhibitors a place to show for lucrative prizes and national titles.

NRCHA Sponsor Committee Chairman Carol Rose noted, "This will be the first time in history that all facets of the cow horse industry are brought together in one big event. For fans and participants – this is a place where there's the World's Greatest, the World Championship Horse Show and a Limited Age event. These are the different parts of the NRCHA – all together. For anyone interested in the cow horse world, this will be the place. I don't know of any other organization that's ever done this."

The week of competition will culminate with the World Championship Awards Banquet on Sunday, February 27.

In Stephenville, preparations have already begun and on June 28, a press conference was held at the local Hard Eight Restaurant. On hand were NRCHA Executive Committee members Bob Avila, Larry Bell and Carol Rose.

Bell noted. "We had the opportunity to make a detailed presentation to some of the major civic and business leaders of Stephenville to ask them to join us in this Celebration of Champions. We laid some important and significant ground work in seeking the support of the entire Stephenville community. They are really looking forward to our return to Stephenville."

"I can't tell you how big I think this show will become," said Avila, speaking to the group. "The enthusiasm is so high – all over the country. In February, there's going to be an incredible show in Stephenville, Texas."
