The History-Making 2005 NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity Kicks Off In Reno Reno, NV - At 7am, Gray Samenfink and Prescribed Smart walked into the arena as the first to compete in the National Reined Cow Horse Association’s largest Snaffle Bit Futurity. This year’s event, which takes place at the Reno Livestock Event Center in Reno, Nevada, began this morning with the Non Pro, Intermediate Non Pro and Amateur Futurity Herd Work Preliminaries. With an unprecedented 294 entries in the Open division and 100 in the Non Pro and Amateur divisions, the 2005 Snaffle Bit Futurity will pay out more than $1.1 million. The show features the Futurity, along with a full slate of NRCHA-approved classes, a world-class trade show and the 2005 NRCHA Hall of Fame Banquet. The event runs through October 2. The National Reined Cow Horse Association, the 56-year-old governing body of cow horse competition, is responsible for promoting the sport, insuring high standards of competition and educating members and the public about the history and tradition of the cow horse.
