Anne Reynolds Takes Over Non Pro Prelim Lead Anne Reynolds came into the National Reined Cow Horse Association Non Pro Snaffle Bit Futurity Rein Work preliminaries tied for the lead with Eric Freitas. She rode More Magic Please for a 216 in the herd work yesterday, but after today’s Rein Work preliminaries, Anne, King Hill, Idaho, took the lead with her second of three futurity horses – Shoshone Pony. The final phase of the Non Pro Futurity preliminaries, the Cow Work, begins tomorrow morning at 7am at the Reno Livestock Event Center in Nevada. Shoshone Pony, an American Paint Horse gelding by JR Colored Rambo and out of Docs Colorful Lady, marked a 220.5 in the Rein Work to take over the lead with a 436 total on two. Anne and More Magic Please, by Chic Please and out of Magical Lena, are reserve going into the Cow Work Preliminaries with a 430. Matt Armenta, of Whitesboro, Texas, maintained his lead in the Amateur riding Smarty Montana, by Hesa Smart Chic and out of Montanas Playgirl. Matt’s 213.5 today, combined with a 215.5 in the Herd Work, gives him a 429 total going into tomorrow’s Cow Work. Unlike the Non Pro Futurity, the Amateur Futurity is only one round and the Champion will be determined tomorrow. Matt is also currently in third in the Non Pro division and leading the Intermediate Non Pro division with his 429 on Smarty Montana. JoAnne Carollo, Atascadero, California, and ARC Hollys Chicadee, by Chic Please and out of Hickorys Holly Cee, continued their lead in the Ladies division after scoring a 215 in the Rein Work. JoAnne and the mare have a 428 total and are also in fourth place in the Non Pro Futurity. Late last night, Patty Pollard, of Lindsay, Texas, and Chromium Cowboy earned the Non Pro Hackamore class championship while Lissa Stewart, of Cave Creek, Arizona, and Lone Star Chic Olena, by Smart Chic Olena and out of Gay Freckles Rio, topped the Non Pro Limited class. Chromium Cowboy, by A Chic In Time and out of Marvelous Miss, is a former NRCHA Open Snaffle Bit Futurity Reserve Champion and an NRCHA Non Pro Hackamore World Champion.
