Posted February 27, 2006 NRCHA Affiliate of the Year Winners Announced The NRCHA Affiliate of the Year awards were created to recognize and reward the National Reined Cow Horse Association affiliates who hold approved shows all over the United States. Russell Dilday, 2005 Affiliate Committee Chairman, announced the winners during the NRCHA Awards Banquet on February 25. The Florida Reined Cow Horse Association is the Affiliate of the Year. Dilday noted, ”This affiliate has 133 members and paid out an incredible $71,623 in 2005. They send members a newsletter and they have created a saddle series to encourage reined cow horse participation. Some of their innovative activities have been to host a sponsor appreciation day, as well as giving a Rookie of the Year Saddle.” The award brings a check for $1500. There were co- Reserve Affiliates of the Year. The shared honor went to Hoosier Daddy Reined Cow Horse Association and the Big Sky Reined Cow Horse Association. Each received $500. Dilday noted, “Hoosier Daddy Reined Cow Horse Association has 135 members and are really carrying the reined cow horse to a new area. They held 11 shows this year. Big Sky Reined Cow Horse Association has grown to 63 members, over three times the previous year, and they paid out over $60,000, besides holding clinics and practice shows for newcomers.” Dilday also named the honorable mention finishers, noting that the quality of the NRCHA Affiliates is exceptional.
