USET 1998 Show Jumping Talent Search Finals East

In 1994 the USET decided to combine the USET Medal Program with The USET Show Jumping Talent Search Program. The focus of the program is to "ask" developing young riders to meet the technical demands and more difficult set of standards required to compete on future USET Show Jumping squads.

Four riders in a field of 60 starters, were selected by judges Patty Stovel and Carol Moloney, to compete in the final round. The finalists switched horses to determine the winner.

"Judging this competition is much more difficult than an equitation class", explained Patty Stovel. "This is a talent search for young riders ready for the jumper ranks, and they need to demonstrate the ability to ride well and effectively."
