Alison Firestone Wins Grand Prix and Kickon Christmas Masters Class at CSI-W Olympia

Alison Firestone Alison Firestone of Upperville, VA, won the Grand Prix at CSI-W Olympia, London, England on Monday, December 20, 1999 riding Mr. and Mrs. Bertram Firestone's Royal Future. She competed against an international field of Olympic and World Champion riders.

The previous day Alison won the Kickon Christmas Masters class, riding Arnica De La Barre, owned by Mr. and Mrs. Bertram Firestone. As Sally Ike, Director of Show Jumping Activities for the USET, commented, "We, at the USET, are so proud of the recent European accomplishments of our U.S. riders. In the month of December, Elise Haas won the Grand Prix in Amsterdam; Katie Monahan Prudent was named Leading Rider in Geneva, winning two classes in one day; and now Alison has reminded the European riders that she is a force to reckoned with in international competition."

All three riders were actively involved in the USET's Developing Rider program. Elise Haas was a 1999 grant recipient, Alison Firestone received her grant in 1996, while Katie Monahan Prudent participated as coach for the Developing Rider tour last summer.
