Kutscher Tops German Championships with Mikmar Combination Bit™
Sunland, CA (July 24, 2003)--Marco Kutscher surprised German Hunter Jumper enthusiasts and his fellow competitors by winning the recent German Hunter Jumper championship, which took place in Gera, Germany. Kutscher, who rides under respected German champion Ludger Beerbaum, rode the nine-year old Montender to victory in a Mikmar Combination Bit™. Kutscher joins other top European athletes in his use of the bit, which is quickly becoming a sensation across the continent. Beerbaum himself credited the Mikmar bit with giving him more control over his horse, Goldfever, on whom he won the Grand Prix of Aachen at the annual World Equestrian Festival this summer. Top competitors such as Rodrigo Pessoa, Kevin Babington and Franke Sloothaak have also commended the bit's outstanding performance. "We are extremely excited about the reputation this bit is quickly gaining throughout Europe," said Dan Weyand of the Mikmar Bit Company. "We are confident that this trend will continue as more and more riders become aware of the unique control this bit provides." Leading horseman Frank Evans developed the Mikmar Bit in 1953. It is unusual because it is designed to disperse the pressure of the rider's hands by sending a signal to the nose, jaw, poll, bars and tongue simultaneously. Traditional bits tend to focus pressure solely in one area. The Mikmar Bit's unique action works well for all different types of horses by helping to improve balance, headset and control. Available in three styles (Training, Short-Shank and Combination) and two sizes (Horse and Draft), the Mikmar Bit can be used in disciplines as varied as reining and jumping.
