National Horse Show & Family Festival Sports New Name And Dates In
Wellington
Wellington, FL – October 5, 2004 – Eugene R. Mische, president and founder of Stadium Jumping, Inc., and President of the National Horse Show Association of America, Ltd., has announced that the upcoming 121st National Horse Show in Wellington, Florida, scheduled for November 30 through December 5, 2004, has increased activities for spectators and to reflect that, has added the words ‘Family Festival’ to the event name. The dates of the 121st National Horse Show & Family Festival mark a change from the Nationals held at the Palm Beach Polo Equestrian Club in 2002 and 2003 when the show was scheduled during the Thanksgiving Day holiday weekend in compliance with the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) show calendar. This year’s 121st National Horse Show & Family Festival is scheduled for the week after Thanksgiving. “The new dates give everyone the opportunity to spend time with their families at home on the Thanksgiving Holiday,” said Mr. Mische. “Having the show a week after Thanksgiving this year also gave us the opportunity to schedule more family events and entertainment, so we decided to change the name to the 121st National Horse Show & Family Festival.” The Palm Beach Polo Equestrian Club in Wellington will host the 121st National Horse Show & Family Festival for the third consecutive year. The program for the event includes a variety of daytime and evening competitions in hunters, jumpers, and equitation, with some of the nation’s foremost riders and horses in contention for top prize money and national titles. The six-day National Horse Show & Family Festival will also feature the third annual Zada Enterprises Dressage At The National, December 3-5. Entertainment, exhibitions, and social events are a traditional and festive element of the 121st National Horse Show & Family Festival. Children and their parents will enjoy the Children’s Fair Celebration scheduled for Saturday, December 4. Sponsored by Wellington Show Stables for the second consecutive year, the fair features a variety of children’s favorites – the Western Moonwalk, 24’ Super Slide, Balloon Artist, Face Painting, Petting Zoo, Rock Climbing Wall, Survivor Obstacle, and Pony Rides. Families will also enjoy the Taste of Wellington on Saturday, December 4, at the National Horse Show & Family Festival. The Taste of Wellington features a fabulous selection of tastings from local gourmet restaurants including Bamboo Club, Panera Bread, Charlie’s Steamers, Tree’s Wings & Ribs, California Pizza Kitchen, Cake Boutique, Hoffman’s Chocolates, Macaroni Grille, Anthony’s Pizza, and Galipette’s Catering Co. Nightly parties at The National are traditional, and in Wellington this year five consecutive nights of parties celebrating the 121st National Horse Show & Family Festival are scheduled. The Opening Party sponsored by Beverly Lake Wilkes will be held on Tuesday, November 30, at the Palm Beach Equestrian Country Club. A Welcome Cocktail Party on Wednesday, December 1, will be held at the International Polo Club Palm Beach. A Cocktail Reception hosted by Mrs. William Redfern at her Mallet Hill estate will take place on Thursday, December 2. “Jumping Under the Stars” on Friday, December 3, features an evening of exhibitions and competitions and a Black Tie Gala with dinner and dancing in the Diamond Horseshoe Club. The round of parties wraps up on Saturday, December 4, with the American Grandprix Association (AGA) Celebration Dinner, held this year in the new Oak Room at the Palm Beach Polo Golf House. Six days of equestrian competition highlight the 121st National Horse Show & Family Festival.
