Ferguson is Maui Bound as Leading Equitation Trainer During 2004 Colorado
Horse Park Hunter/Jumper Shows
Parker, CO - September 23, 2004 - At the conclusion of the High Prairie Fall Classic (September 16-19, 2004) at the Colorado Horse Park, Tracye Ferguson found out she was going to Maui this December. The Golden, Colorado based hunter/jumper trainer focuses on equitation. Throughout the eight show series at the Colorado Horse Park, declared trainers earned points based on their riders' ribbons won in equitation and medal classes. "I put in lots of hours and time on the road to do the equitation, so the Maui trip will be a nice vacation after a long year," said Ferguson Another Colorado trainer, Corky Shaha was close to the lead and excited about the possibility of the trip to Maui, but in the end Ferguson had the lead. "I am so psyched," said Ferguson when she found out she won the trip. "I am very excited and I have never been to Hawaii." When she gets to Maui, Ferguson will stay at the lovely Maui Marriott Ocean Resort in a beachfront room on Kaanapali Beach. She will be able to walk to restaurants and shops, and enjoy a host of activities the resort offers. She will have some spending money in her pocket as well. The top five trainers in the Colorado Equitation Incentive received a check for two times the number of points they earned in the series. Ferguson will have $2,158.00 to take with her to Maui. A total of $5,357 was paid out to the top five equitation trainers. Ferguson will be heading east to the fall indoor shows with several students, including Kate Stelmack who Ferguson coached to the win in the ASPCA Maclay Regional at the recent High Prairie Fall show. "Tracy is intense, but fun," said Stelmack of her coach. "She is really dedicated and focuses on equitation." Hopefully Stelmack and Ferguson's other riders will do well in the east, and when Ferguson gets home she will be ready to pack for Maui! |
