New Sponsorships Announced for 2006 Hampton Classic, August 27 to September 3, 2006

Bridgehampton, NY—May 25, 2006—Long-time Hampton Classic sponsor Prudential Financial will return as a major sponsor at the 2006 Hampton Classic Horse Show. One of the nation’s premier show jumping competitions, the Hampton Classic will begin on Sunday, August 27 and will culminate eight days of competition with the excitement of the $150,000 Prudential Financial Grand Prix on Sunday, September 3. The Hampton Classic is a benefit event for Southampton Hospital.

“As the Hampton Classic embarks on its fourth decade, we are committed to building on the tradition of excellence established by Tony Hitchcock and Jean Lindgren,” Hampton Classic Executive Director Shanette Barth said of her predecessors who retired last year after 30 years with the Classic. “The Hampton Classic is the closing highlight of the Hamptons’ summer season and it will once again present a memorable week of outstanding equestrian competition featuring many Olympic and World Championship riders.

“We are pleased to welcome back Prudential Financial as sponsor of the Grand Prix, and also to announce that we have several new sponsors joining our ‘family of Hampton Classic supporters’ including Grey Goose Vodka, Hermès of Paris, DuBarry Shoes of Ireland, and Budget Rent A Car Systems, to name a few,” Ms. Barth noted. “In addition to our regular line-up of major show jumping events, we will host a special competition this year, the Finals of the Long Island Show Series for Riders with Disabilities (LISSRD), on Monday, August 28.

“We invite everyone to join us and see why so many people believe that the Hampton Classic is the perfect way to end their summer,” Ms. Barth concluded.
